Field Service Technician Job Description
Must have a mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Neat in work habits and appearance. Travel to clients locations for service in the NJ, NY & PA regions utilizing company provided vehicle and tools as directed by management.
Technician is responsible for the maintenance and repair of the customer's machinery and tools.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Repairs machinery in accordance with diagrams, operating manuals, manufacturer specifications and working knowledge of machinery. Machinery repairs and/or service includes mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and controls systems knowledge. May perform regular, preventative maintenance on all machinery. Orders supplies and parts as required. Maintains records of repair and maintenance activities via completed service reports.
Mechanic duties are required to be consistent with established safety rules and procedures.
Basic machine shop and welding a plus.
Working knowledge of safe equipment practices and applicable laws, rules and regulations.
Demonstrated ability to stand and walk on concrete surfaces, to lift up to 75 pounds using proper lifting techniques and to work in awkward positions. Demonstrated ability to perform mathematical computations, to write legibly, to maintain records, and to give and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to work flexible hours as mandated by management.
Shop work, vehicle clean-up and other duties as required when directed by management.
Clean driving record a must!
